WHY are beautiful people convicted less often

According to a recent study in Cornell University, more attractive defendants in court are less likely to be found guilty than less attractive ones. If there are damages, then more attractive people tend to receive higher rewards and in criminal cases, better-looking defendants receive lower sentences. This is definitely proven in teacher sex scandals where the attractive female teacher has sex with a young boy and then gets a seven year sentence. While an ugly teacher gets upwards of 20 years in jail.

This is absolutely amazing. I believe that it proves that people judge the surface way more then I actually thought. It also exhibits how people believe things when they see attractive people such as that attractive people are more intelligent, of a higher social status, and more wealthy. It exhibits how our society places a huge amount of importance on looks rather then actual intelligence, character, or personality.
